ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Ballwin man admitted he hit his sister on Saturday before it was answered and died.
Anthony Sokolich, 70, of the 900 block of Alpine Ridge Drive in Ballwin is held on a $ 250,000 cash-only bond.
A court document says Anthony called 911 to get “an ambulance for his sister, the victim, because she didn’t respond after he hit her multiple times.” When officers arrived at the scene, they found the woman unresponsive. He also had a wound on his face. He was found to have a “severe brain bleed” at the hospital. Anthony “admitted he was beaten multiple times before he didn’t respond.”
Katherine Sokolich, 63, died of her injuries. He was hit about 9 p.m. and then police said he died of his injuries on Sunday afternoon. Anthony’s cases will be changed to reflect Katherine’s death.
Detectives from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons in St. Louis. The Louis County Police Department is leading the investigation.
