With the 2024 presidential election just two months away, it’s time to get prepared! Whether you’re a first-time voter or have been casting ballots for years, here’s a quick guide to answer your questions.

When Is Election Day?

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024. If you can’t vote that day, don’t worry—early voting options are available.

Am I Eligible to Vote?

To vote in NYC’s general election, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be a New York City resident for at least 30 days.
  • Be 18 years old by Election Day (pre-registration allowed at 16 or 17).

How Can I Register to Vote?

You can register online if you have a New York State ID—simply visit this link. The deadline for registration is Saturday, October 26. There’s no need to re-register every year once you’re signed up.

When Can I Vote?
